Colliers has recently announced the appointment of Chris Archibold as the new managing director for office services in Southeast Asia. According to the press release, Archibold will officially assume his role in September and will report to Mike Davis, who is the current managing director for occupier services in Asia Pacific (Apac).
Investing in condos in Singapore requires careful consideration of the government’s property cooling measures. These measures have been implemented by the Singaporean government over the years to maintain a stable real estate market and discourage speculative buying. For potential investors, one key measure to be aware of is the Additional Buyer’s Stamp Duty (ABSD), which imposes higher taxes on foreign buyers and those purchasing multiple properties. While these measures may impact the short-term profitability of condo investments, they ultimately contribute to the long-term stability of the market, creating a secure investment environment for individuals. What’s more, the emergence of new condo launches in the market provides investors with a wider range of options and opportunities to enter the market. With New Condo Launches, investors now have more choices to choose from, making it an exciting time to invest in the Singapore real estate market.
The real estate company is looking to expand its office services team in Southeast Asia, and Archibold is expected to lead this initiative. Sam Harvey-Jones, Colliers’ COO for Apac, expressed his confidence in the new appointee, stating that he is a proven leader with a track record of delivering results and building high-performing teams. He also mentioned that Archibold’s market knowledge and client-focused approach align perfectly with the company’s strategy to lead the office sector into the future.
Archibold joins Colliers from JLL, where he held the position of country head for Singapore. He has been with JLL Singapore for over 21 years, with 14 of those years spent leading the office leasing business. He was then promoted to head of leasing in 2018 before being appointed as JLL’s Singapore country head in January this year.
In April, news of Archibold’s departure from JLL broke when an internal email from the company stated that he would be leaving in the upcoming months. His exit from JLL was confirmed with his new appointment at Colliers. His extensive experience and expertise in the real estate industry make him a valuable addition to Colliers’ team, and the company is optimistic about his future contributions.
