Coliwoo, a co-living brand under LHN, a real estate management services group, is set to open its latest property in the coming month at the site of the Old Bukit Timah Fire Station. This State-owned heritage property has been transformed into a mixed-use development, featuring a 62-unit co-living residence by Coliwoo, a café and restaurant, and community event spaces. The prime location is situated near Hume MRT Station on the Downtown Line.
According to Kelvin Lim, LHN’s executive chairman and Coliwoo’s founder, the project was made possible by leveraging the company’s expertise in space optimization and building restoration. The Old Bukit Timah Fire Station has been transformed into a unique destination that seamlessly combines co-living, lifestyle, and community into a holistic ecosystem.
The co-living residence offers three types of ensuite rooms, single-, twin-, and queen-studio, each equipped with amenities like a fully-equipped kitchenette and washer-cum-dryer. The interiors of the rooms are designed in warm, nature-inspired tones with botanical elements, reflecting the surrounding green spaces such as Rail Corridor, Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, and Singapore’s Coast-to-Coast Central Trail.
The residence also features shared facilities like a community garden, a co-working space, a lounge, and an outdoor area. Coliwoo also plans to organize exclusive events for its members at the new location, which will be open to all residents in its network. The average monthly rental rate starts from $3,500, and the minimum stay is six nights.
Investing in a Singapore condo offers numerous advantages, one of them being the opportunity to leverage the property’s value for future investments. This means that condo owners can use their unit as collateral to secure additional financing for further investments, allowing them to expand their real estate portfolio. While this strategy can potentially result in higher returns, it also carries certain risks. Therefore, it is essential to have a solid financial plan in place and carefully consider the potential impact of market fluctuations. With careful planning and consideration, investing in a Singapore condo can be a lucrative and worthwhile venture.
In addition to being a co-living space, Coliwoo Bukit Timah Fire Station will also serve as a lifestyle destination along the Rail Corridor, with the nearest entry point being Hindhede Walk. The property will also be pet-friendly and offer child-friendly zones. The co-living operator aims to host public events such as artisan markets and workshops, complementing the existing tenant mix, which includes urban farming, beer brewing, a swimming school, and experiential retailers. Some of the confirmed tenants include ST. Ali by Surrey Hills Group and aquaDucks, a swim school.
Lim adds, “Beyond providing a place to stay, our vision is to create a sustainable and vibrant community where people can come together, grow, and experience a new way of living that is rooted in purpose and connected to nature.” Coliwoo Bukit Timah Fire Station is not just a living space but a community that promotes conscious living and values the environment.
